New Canaan First Selectman Kevin Moynihan was hospitalized after he suffered a stroke, officials say.
The announcement was made Tuesday night by Selectman Nick Williams during a broadcast of the Board of Selectmen meeting.
Moynihan, 72, told town officials he suffered a mild stroke and was admitted to the hospital.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family," Williams says.
Williams praised Moynihan for his excellent job as selectman and wishes he will continue to serve.
