New Canaan High School wrapped up Safe Driving Week with a mock car crash.
"When we do this experience and you know, cut up a car and pull the kids out, kids are aware of how impactful that can be," said Principal Bill Egan.
It was organized by the town's police department.
Students watched EMS and fire officials respond to a staged accident where the driver was "under the influence" and arrested.
"We want these kids to know that, holy cow, this could be me. So, I better change some of my decisions that I'm doing," said school resource officer Jeff Deak.
This week, police and parents organized other activities about the dangers of distracted driving.
