An exhibit at Sacred Heart University's Discovery Science Center is giving visitors the chance to learn about what is happening on the International Space Station.

The interactive pilot exhibit called "Call a Satellite" allows people to ask questions about the ISS and receive immediate responses using live orbital data and an Artificial Intelligence speaker called Zarya.

The technology was made by Oasis Orbital.

Staff members say what usually feels distant and abstract now feels real and accessible.

"I'm hoping that people learn obviously more about the ISS and learn about our astronauts and what they're working on up in space and the importance of having satellites orbiting the globe. But also, the ways that we can use language models like Zarya to help with educational facilities like our own and help guests learn more about information that might otherwise be inaccessible to them," says Alex Young.

The exhibit is open through July 9.
