Connecticut lawmakers have given final approval to Gov. Ned Lamont’s proposal to ban the sale of new Glock pistols in Connecticut, wrapping up a marathon all‑night legislative session.

The legislation targets a small plastic device known as a “Glock switch,” which can illegally convert a standard handgun into a makeshift machine gun.

Lawmakers say the ban will remain in place until the company redesigns its pistols to prevent the attachment or use of such devices.

Under the measure, current Glock owners will be allowed to keep their firearms and may continue to sell them.
