New York State gas tax holiday to start June 1, saving New Yorkers money on fuel

Starting Wednesday, New York drivers will save 16 cents a gallon thanks to the gas tax holiday that will last through Dec. 31.
This was included in the state budget that was signed back in April as a way to help alleviate financial issues New Yorkers were having at the pump after months of soaring prices.
Prices that drivers will see at the pump will include state gas tax and other taxes. New York joins Maryland and Connecticut in suspending their states’ gas taxes.
