Botsford Fire Rescue says responders had to extricate a driver from his car when it crashed into a pole.

They say the accident happened early Friday morning on Swamp Road in Newtown.

Officials say the rescue took about 30 minutes.

Newtown EMS brought the driver to the hospital with injuries believed to be serious.
