More than 160 people in Norwalk signed a petition to ask South Norwalk Electric and Water to revitalize a water tower that they call an “eye sore.”
Andrew Hassett, of Norwalk, started the petition.
"From parents to students to out-of-town families and individuals coming for sports events at these three schools, I think we just owe it to everyone in Norwalk to see this thing revitalized" says Hassett.
South Norwalk Electric and Water says it plans to start painting the tower in the upcoming fiscal year.
But the tank would need to be taken out of service.
"I've seen some support for local artists coming in and doing a mural on the water tower. Everything from that to just, keep it white. Make sure it's not rusted" says Hassett.
"I think if they did like a competition with the schools or something like that, and have them kind of come up with something like that, community involvement" adds Coleen Hayes, of Norwalk.
