Norwalk Transit officials said today that state funding changes are forcing them to make painful cuts to bus lines that serve the disabled and elderly.
Dozens of people from the South Norwalk Community Center have met with members from Norwalk Transit about the changes that could come within the transportation system.
Transit officials say they could increase fares or decrease service routes all in an effort to balance their budget.
They say they didn't receive enough money from the state this year.
However, they also say they are open to hearing what the public has to say about these changes. There will be public hearings on Oct. 18 and 19 so people can voice their opinions.
