Norwalk-based Rebel Daughter Cookies hosted an event intended to empower women-owned businesses.
Rebel Daughter Cookies has been in business since Nov. 2019, and offers nationwide shipping.
The business has been primarily online until a month ago after a retail and kitchen space was secured in Norwalk.
Rebel Daughter Cookies is known for their unconventionally large cookies made with sugary-sweet ingredients like breakfast cereal and s’mores.
Aside from the sweet lineup of fan favorite cookies, Rebel Daughter Cookies also offers a lactation cookie to help mothers who are breastfeeding their babies.
"My mom always called me her rebel daughter growing up because I was always a little defiant and the name rebel daughter just stuck," owner Anne Grossman says.
Grossman says Rebel Daughter Cookies held its first 'Rebel Daughter Day' event earlier this month, providing a space for other women owned business.
She says she wants to give back to the community of other young, female entrepreneur.
Grossman says she is also giving back a percentage of her profits to nonprofit and charitable organizations that focus on maternal health and child wellbeing.
