The National Transportation Safety Board released its preliminary report Tuesday on a deadly plane crash that happened earlier this month on the Connecticut-New Yorker border.

The crash occurred on Dec. 12 on I-684 near the Greenwich, Connecticut and Harrison, New York line.

The plane took off from the Linden Airport in New Jersey.

According to the report's findings, a witness told officials they not only saw the plane "fall very fast out of the sky," but also pulled one person out of the plane.

The report in part reads, an "examination of the flight controls for roll, pitch and yaw revealed no evidence of pre impact failure or malfunction. Initial examination of the engine did not reveal any evidence of a catastrophic mechanical failure or malfunction."

Two people were on board.

Jacob Yankele Friedman, 32, of Monsey, New York was killed.
