A Bridgeport nonprofit that helps people find housing received a very special gift from a local donor on Sunday.
Michael Lodato, CEO of Good Directions gifted a delivery van to "Off The Streets Bridgeport" at a ceremony at Saint Stephen Church in Trumbull.
"Off the Streets Bridgeport" provides security deposits and other help to people who are struggling with homelessness.
"We're fortunate and blessed enough to help and as long as we can continue, we'll continue to help,” Lodato said.
"We now have this van that was so generously donated, so we will have the opportunity to deliver furniture to those who are in need, as well as to pick up furniture from those who are willing to donate it,” added Father Henry Hoffman, Saint Stephen’s Church.
Organizers said they are urging the public to support the nonprofit's upcoming fundraiser in October, which will take place at the Discovery Museum on Park Avenue.
