Officials issue Silver Alert for 4-year-old girl

UPDATE Aug. 30: News 12 reported Tuesday that the father of 4-year-old Aliyah Serrano was granted custody. Bridgeport police now tell News 12 that the father has been arrested for being a fugitive of justice on domestic violence charges he faces in Puerto Rico. Police are still looking to locate the mother and daughter and ensure they are safe. Once they are able to make contact, police will request the cancellation of the Silver Alert. Previous coverage below.
Officials issued a Silver Alert for a 4-year-old girl.
The Bridgeport Police Department says it is looking for 4-year-old Aliyah Serrano, last seen in Bridgeport on Feb. 28, 2022. Police have also expanded their search for Serrano's mother, Valery Colon.
The department says the girl’s biological father was given full custody of Serrano in July 2023 and has had no physical contact with her or her biological mother, a 33-year-old woman from New Haven, since February 2022.
Serrano has black hair and brown eyes, and is 3 feet, 7 inches tall and around 30 pounds, according to police.
