Officials say a pickup truck went off the road and struck a tree in Litchfield Saturday night.

They say the incident happened near East Street and Northfield Road just after 11 p.m.

Firefighters had to extricate the driver from the vehicle, which was badly damaged.

Police say the driver has moderate injuries to his lower extremities.
