Black Wolf Martial Arts in Orange posted a tribute on Facebook Wednesday to 27-year-old Christian Lubenga.
The young father died after being taken to the hospital following his first ever amateur MMA fight in Springfield over the weekend.
The local medical examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The studio called Lubegna the "the kind of human who brought life and light into any room he walked into."
