We have some interesting weather developing over the next few days, changing seasons, basically. And by the time we get to Sunday, it's going to be warmer but rainy and windy. So much rain, about 2 to 3 inches could fall that that may lead to some flooding. We may also have some damaging winds. Winds could gust as high as about 50 miles an hour and that's enough to possibly cause some power outages. So make sure all your devices are charged that knock down or destroy some of those holiday decorations. So please secure the objects outside your home if you can before Sunday. And then we want to watch the coast for some title flooding during our high tide cycle coming in Sunday into Monday. Now, tomorrow it's a chilly start to the morning but a better finish. Much warmer by the afternoon, winds are generally, I don't foresee any major issues on the roads due to the weather. Enjoy the day because it's quiet temperatures in the forties. So you still need some nice warm layers, but you really don't need the heavy duty winter coat. You will need the umbrellas and all that rain gear. Waking up Monday morning from that storm coming in late Sunday, temperatures are going to crash after that. Highs back into the forties and lows in the twenties next week.

Our Lives: Former police officer releases autobiography ‘Black and Blue in Bridgeport’

Welcome to our lives. I'm Gwen Edwards. My guest today spent more than two decades on the police department in the city of Bridgeport. He is now releasing his autobiography, David Daniels the third. Welcome to Our Lives. Thank you. I'm, I'm blessed to be here. Thank you for having me talk about the title of the book, Black and Blue and Bridgeport. And I was a black man growing up in the city of Bristol and I did turn blue for 25 plus years. So it was kind of a play on words but very descriptive of what I went through. I had quite a career. I, I loved what I was doing. You know, I started a basketball camp. I taught uh the dance program. I taught the grade program. I spent a lot of years in community services. I worked with gangs, gang members and um I tried to intermingle them with my love for sports and I developed a basketball camp for kids that lasted 17 years. As a matter of fact, it still goes on because my assistant director took over after I retired and he still runs it. So it's been going on for over 25 years, David, you describe your career as highlights and lowlights. Why don't you give us some details what the low lights would be in my rookie year. I saw a police officer beat up two suspects that were in handcuffs and I had to tell on him. And when I did that changed my life and the trajectory of my career. If you look at the front cover of my book, you see me handing a holding a hangman's noose that was left on my car. And that was just one of the things that I went through. There's many of the things that I touched on in the book about that period or different things that happened to me during the course of my career. And those, those would be the low lights, the highlights would be me, uh start doing the deer program. The highlights would be an activist for the community. One of the biggest things that I that I walked away with was I developed a program where I could give Christmas toys to kids and feed people at Thanksgiving and Easter. You know, those things continue to touch my heart even though I've been gone for almost 10 years. And you were one of five kids growing up in PT Bard with a single mom at the head of the household. My mom was the salt of the earth to me. But yeah, we grew up in uh PT Barnum housing projects on welfare. And we had all the struggles that all the other families had out there. You know, most of those families did have a father, most of them had substandard jobs and there was a lot of violence, a lot of drug dealing out there. It was just a plethora of all things that, that are possible in this world. Your take on the current Bridgeport Police Department and the new chief, everything that I've done or accomplished because I'm part of a village. I love the new chief. I served with him for many years. I know his heart's in the right place. He's got big challenges ahead of him. Uh When I was a police officer, our budget of strength was 502 officers and they're down to about 202 officers. Finally, how do you get a copy of the book?
