Paige Bueckers has been named the WNBA Rookie of the Year following a standout season.

The former UConn star was surprised with the award Tuesday morning during an appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show.

She led all rookies in scoring, including a record-setting 44-point game against Los Angeles in August.

Her win makes UConn the first school to have both NBA and WNBA rookies of the year in the same season.

Stephon Castle won the NBA honor earlier this year with the Spurs.
