Penguin Plunge fundraiser for Special Olympics returns to Fairfield

The Fairfield came together Saturday to raise money for the annual Penguin Plunge for Special Olympics.
The annual event returned after two years of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event brought out over 100 participants who submerged into 39-degree water.
It raised over $40,000 that organizers said helps athletes with future events, health care and other resources.
