The Pequot Library kicked off their annual summer book sale today.

The five-day event is an annual tradition in the Southport section of Fairfield.

Not only does the sale benefit the library's annual programs and resources for the community - it also helps local teachers. The library gives teachers a voucher for books.

Book sale chairman Doug Fried says there's over 80,000 to 100,000 books for sale.

Fried says paperback books are $3 and hardcovers are $4.

He says prices continue to drop every day of the book sale.
