One person is dead after the MTA says they were hit by a train and thrown into the Mill River.
It happened overnight in Fairfield, between exits 20 and 21 by I-95 near Lacy Place and Post Road.
Crews worked to get the person out of the water.
“The Fairfield Fire Department deployed a rapid deployment craft, which is a raft that can be used to inflate on scene, giving us access to get the victim in this case,” says Assistant Chief Roger Caisse.
The train involved was a southbound Metro-North train.
