School officials have announced that the plan to start Northeast Elementary School's day later has been put on hold.
Under the plan, the school day would have started at 9 a.m. instead of 8:10 a.m., starting next school year.
The decision to put the change on hold came after many parents were upset that it would make it more difficult for them to drop their children off before going to work.
Interim Superintendent Winifred Hamilton says that the plan may still go into effect because there are only so many available school buses and some schools will have to start later.
