Police say a 22-year-old man from Bridgeport was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon.
John Randall Patrick Jr. was on a second-floor bedroom at 978 Howard Ave. when the incident occurred.
Police say they have strong leads, and expect to make an arrest soon.
This is the city's eighth homicide of the year.
Friends tell News 12 the victim grew up in a local church and was a member of the children's choir.  They say there are too many people getting killed in Bridgeport.
"I want somebody to be accountable today. I don't want them to be accountable two or three years from now. I want them to be accountable for today. I just want some justice. I just want some peace. I just want something," says the victim's father, John Randall Patrick Sr.
He says he lost his mother a few weeks ago and also lost his daughter a year ago.
Police have learned that the victim and suspect knew each other.
