A 26-year-old Waterbury man was fatally shot early Sunday, police say.

Waterbury police say officers responded to a report of shots fired on North Main and Division streets.

They say officers located an unoccupied vehicle in the roadway along with evidence of shots fired. The victim was taken to St. Mary's Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police have not released the victim's name.
