The usually peaceful community in the Southport section of Fairfield was shaken early Sunday morning after reports of a shooting inside Wafu Asian Bistro.
News 12 reported that police responded to the bistro to reports of shots fired. They found shell casings inside and outside the location but no victim.
Police were later informed that a man who said he was shot in Southport was being treated at Bridgeport Hospital. He had a gunshot wound to the arm and injuries not considered life-threatening.
Police say he is not being cooperative with the investigation. They told News 12’s Lauren Fabrizi that the incident stemmed from an argument between two groups, which then became violent.
