Authorities arrested seven people Monday afternoon at a demonstration for a 15-year-old who was killed by a Bridgeport police officer.
The protesters were arrested after sitting on the street outside the state Capitol in Hartford, asking for more information on why Jayson Negron was killed in May.
Officials say Officer James Boulay shot Negron after he allegedly struck another officer with a stolen car during a chase near a Walgreens at the corner of Fairfield and Park avenues.
Officials say a 21-year-old man inside the car was also shot but survived.
People at the rally asked for video footage of the encounter between the officer and teen to be released. They also say they want to see criminal charges filed against the officer.
Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez  has said the officer acted within the law and department policy, but Negron's family thinks otherwise.
