It happened Monday on Elmwood Avenue in Bridgeport.
Police say Morris Roberts, 52, got into an altercation with another man.
The victim was taken to the hospital with an injury not considered life-threatening.
Roberts' charges include conspiracy to commit murder and home invasion.
He is being held on $85,000 bond.
