Police say Akiem Thomas, 33, was shot by the man in self-defense at a home on Hollister Avenue on Sunday.

Police say an elderly handicapped person shot and critically injured a Bridgeport man.
Police say Akiem Thomas, 33, was shot by the man in self-defense at a home on Hollister Avenue on Sunday.
Thomas faces several charges including assault of an elderly person, reckless endangerment and illegal discharge of a firearm. He was not charged with robbery.
Thomas is being held on $750,000 bond and under police watch at a hospital.
