Shanica Merced faces charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and illegal gambling in connection with an incident that left two men dead in March, police say.

According to police, Tayvon Geter and Richard Davis died during an attempted robbery at an illegal gambling club on Stratford Avenue. One of the victims opened fire, killing both men. Merced was wounded in the exchange of gunfire.

Authorities allege Merced helped operate the illegal club and played a role in setting up the robbery. Two others have also been charged in the case.

Merced's charges stem from her involvement in the illegal gambling operation and her alleged role in planning the robbery that led to the double homicide.
