Two emergency dispatchers in Milford have been fired after police say they handled a serious medical call in a joking manner.
In October, Nicholas Brown died after being arrested by Milford police. Now, police are calling a conversation between two dispatchers following Brown?s arrest both insensitive and disturbing. Fire dispatcher Teresa Burrows was terminated Wednesday and civilian police dispatcher Steven Gifford was fired Thursday.
The chief medical examiner determined Brown?s death was an accidental cocaine overdose. However, Brown?s family has claimed the 24-year-old died after police Tasered him.
