Stamford police are looking for two suspects who held a cashier at gunpoint at a Shell gas station early Sunday morning.
"They showed the gun to the cashier," said Jamal Akxdar, the manager of the store. "They took all the money from the register."
Police say the suspects entered the gas station on Hope Street around 5:30 a.m. wearing masks. They got away with almost $600 worth of cigarettes and about $700 in cash.
"The life was in danger for the cashier," Akxdar said. "That is a very, very serious matter. When you show the gun to somebody, somebody gets scared."
Police say the cashier did the right thing.
"We always suggest that they cooperate with people when they're having to deal with a situation like that," said Lt. Tom Scanlon of the Stamford Police Department. "Certainly there's no amount of money that's worth them getting hurt."
No one was injured, according to police. Anyone with information is asked to call Stamford police.
This isn't the first hit for the Shell station. Akxdar said his store was robbed by someone with a hammer three months ago.
