Norwalk police say they are looking for a driver and passenger who ditched a car after crashing into a stream.
Police say an Infiniti G35 crashed into a creek at the intersection of Woodchuck Lane and Rowayton Avenue Thursday night around 10:30 p.m. They say they believe the driver jumped the curb and plowed into two street signs before the car flipped into the stream.
According to officials, the driver and the passenger both fled the scene.
Neighbors say the crash made a huge sound. They also say they were particularly worried because the car was on fire with two people in it.
"They crawled out of the car by themselves, both of them," Norwalk resident James Merensky says. "They broke through the car and crawled up the river bank."
Police say they want to speak with the driver and passenger to ensure they're OK and determine what caused the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call Norwalk police.
