Trumbull police say an e-bike rider was seriously injured in a collision Thursday night.

It happened around 6:45 p.m. on Main Street near Whitney Avenue.

Police say a 15-year-old was operating the e-bike, going south on Main Street, when he was hit by a vehicle driving north.

The boy sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.

Officers say the vehicle that hit the e-bike was heavily damaged and remained at the scene. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was not injured.
