(03/23/06) NORWALK ? Police say a West Haven man robbed three Norwalk businesses under the cover of darkness provided by Wednesday night?s power outage.
Investigators have arrested Thomas Confortini and accused him of breaking into Spice of Asia, Baglez and a Pearl Vision Eye Center. All three businesses were along Connecticut Avenue. Police say Confortini smashed windows and stole a cash register. According to a storeowner, the suspect also attempted to break into an ATM.
Police say they arrested Confortini at approximately 10:30 Wednesday night when they found him in the area with cuts on his hands and large amounts of cash in his vehicle. They say he was also identified by a witness. Charges against Confortini include burglary, larceny and criminal mischief. He is being held on $65,000 bond.
