Police say a juvenile was killed in a shooting at a 13th birthday party in a Fairfield banquet hall Saturday night.
On Sunday night, police identified the victim as 15-year-old Zion Burton, of Bridgeport.
The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. at the Calvin United Church of Christ banquet hall on Kings Highway East near Cumberland Farms.
Police say a non-church member and a non-Fairfield resident rented out the hall and that around 150 to 200 people were at the party, a mix of adults and children.
Police say one shot was heard during the fight, striking two people. They say Burton was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.
A female victim was shot in the jaw and has since been released from the hospital.
Police say three other people suffered minor injuries, like bumps and bruises, while trying to get out of the hall.
Police say the suspect took off following the shooting.
It's unclear what started the fight.
Police say it was an isolated incident and that the suspect knew Burton.
Their investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to reach out to police.
