Police say a man fatally stabbed his brother during an argument in Bridgeport, marking the city's first homicide of 2021.
Angel Valle, 34, of Bridgeport, suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police identified his brother as the suspect, 25-year-old Julian Daivon Valle, of Bridgeport.
The incident happened at 266 Pennsylvania Ave. around 1:50 a.m. Wednesday.
City Councilwoman Maria Pereira, who represents the district, says the mother is facing a double dose of grief.
"As the mother just said to me, ‘I lost both of them’ -- and that breaks my heart because it's so true,” she said. "One son is going to likely end up in a long prison sentence, and she's lost the other one…to the cemetery."
Valle has been charged with murder and risk of injury to a minor. Police say there were children present when the stabbing took place.
Pereira says the brothers were close until something came between them recently, sparking the violent dispute.
Valle's bond is set at $1,000,000.
