Police have identified a person of interest in a deadly Bridgeport hit-and-run.
A 911 caller told police a man had been struck by a car Tuesday on East Main and Pulaski streets around 10:44 a.m.
Witnesses told police a green-colored Toyota Camry struck the pedestrian and that he was left bleeding in the roadway as the vehicle drove off.
Upon arrival, officers observed the pedestrian lying in the roadway unresponsive. He was later identified as 52-year-old Rafael Davila, from Bridgeport. Police say he was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, but later died.
The dark green-colored Toyota Camry, bearing Connecticut classic registration 00SHRD was located and towed to the Bridgeport Police Department’s Traffic Division.
Police say they interviewed a person of interest and continue to investigate.
No arrests have been made.
