Police: 4 injured in car crash, shooting on Main Street in Bridgeport

Bridgeport police say two people were shot and two others were injured as a result of a two-car crash on Main Street and Wilcox Street on Sunday.

Bridgeport police say two people were shot and two others were injured as a result of a two-car crash on Main Street and Wilcox Street on Sunday.
They say it happened around 12:50 p.m. when officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired in downtown Bridgeport. Officers found one passenger, a 27-year-old Milford man, suffering from a gunshot wound to the buttocks.
Police say a 29-year-old woman and 57-year-old woman, both from Naugatuck, were injured in the crash. Those three individuals were taken to the hospital and were in stable condition as of Sunday night.
While police secured the scene, hospital staff say a 23-year-old Bridgeport man was admitted for a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was in the intensive care unit as of Sunday night. Police say he was injured as a result of the same incident on Main Street. Officers quickly located a car on Wilcox Street they believe was connected to the crime.
The Bridgeport Police Department said on Sunday night that it was actively investigating the crime scene on Main Street and Wilcox Street.
