The man who allegedly hit three cars on the Devon Bridge and then fled the scene was arraigned Monday afternoon on charges of driving under the influence, evading responsibility and driving an uninsured car with a suspended license.
The alleged hit-and-run happened at around 7 p.m. Saturday.
Police say Bertrand Tremel Jr., 44, fled after the crash and allegedly abandoned his truck on Sheridan Street.
They say a police dog tracked Tremel to his home where he was identified as the driver by witnesses. Investigators say he appeared intoxicated at the time of his arrest and had multiple empty beer cans and alcohol containers in his car.
Police say Tremel has a criminal record including previous driving under the influence convictions. A judge cited these convictions before setting bond at $40,000.
Police say the victims of the crash are all recovering from their injuries.
