State police say they arrested a New Fairfield man for possession of child pornography on Tuesday.
Police say they found the material on a tablet device while they were investigating a fatal fire at John Fairchild's home that happened last April.
Police say the body of his wife was found inside the home, but the medical examiner determined that she died prior to the fire.
Fairchild is being held at the Bridgeport Correctional Facility after failing to post the $10,000 bond.
