Police: No one called 911 or contacted responders after nightclub shooting in Orange
A 34-year-old man was shot at a nightclub in Orange early Friday morning, police say.
Police say at 12:42 a.m., they were notified that the victim was brought to Yale New Haven Hospital in a private car.
He remains in critical condition.
A witness with the victim told hospital security that the shooting happened at Top Quality Vibez nightclub on Boston Post Road.
Officers found blood and shell casings near the door of the club, which was closed and locked, according to authorities.
Police say although their investigation revealed that many people were at the club when the shooting occurred, not a single 911 call was placed along with any other notification to the police or emergency responders.
They say while detectives have tried to contact the club's owner numerous times, they have not responded.
Police have not identified the shooter or what led to the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Ryan Ahern at 203-891-2138, ext. 8214.
All information provided will be kept confidential.
