A group of police officers and firefighters from Connecticut will be facing off on the basketball court tonight as part of the second annual Battle of the Badges.
The event is part of a fundraiser to benefit the Barnum Festival.
Organizers say the Bridgeport Police Department will play the Bridgeport Fire Department. The Fairfield Police Department will play the Fairfield Fire Department.
They say the winners of each game will then play each other.
Players say the fundraiser will serve as a great way to bridge the gap between the public and first responders.
"It's a great way to interact with the community, for the community to interact with our first responders,” says Fairfield Fire Department Lt. Dennis Eannotti. “Not on an emergency scene, but in a setting that's going to be fun and entertaining."
The event will begin at 6 p.m. at Fairfield Warde High School.
