Fairfield police are asking for help from the public to find a man who they say sexually assaulted a Sacred Heart University student.
Officials say they are looking for 25-year-old Edibaldo Duran, who goes by "Eddie" and possibly "Eddie Guerrero."
At around 3 a.m. on Sept. 1, Duran allegedly broke into a private home in Fairfield near the Sacred Heart University campus and sexually assaulted a female student. Then, according to authorities, he beat and strangled her, leaving her unconscious.
Police say they believe their suspect shaved off his goatee to disguise his appearance.
University officials say Duran is not a student at Sacred Heart.
Officials are asking anyone with information to call police.
