Police: Stratford couple operated drug factory with guns inside house with child

A Stratford couple was arrested for operating a drug factory after a police raid turned up illegal firearms and drugs in a home where a child also lives, police say.
Bridgeport and Stratford police, along with federal agents, arrested Kevin Lopez, and his girlfriend Stephanie Gonzalez, at their 179 Columbus Ave. home in Stratford on Tuesday.
Police say Lopez, who is also known as 'Cano,' was running an illegal operation out of the home where he and Gonzalez have a young child.
Officers found four illegal firearms, a bullet proof vest, hundreds of rounds of ammo, 2.5 pounds of marijuana, and uncut 5.6 ounces of cocaine that was ready to be sold.
Police say they also found $4,500 inside the home and that both Lopez and Gonzalez have a child who was living inside of the home.
Police say anyone who was inside of the home, including the couple's child, could have had access to the guns and drugs that were seized.
Gonzalez was arrested in March of 2020 for firearm violations and is currently out on a $50,000 bond.
Both have previous arrests that prohibit them from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Lopez and Gonzalez were arrested and charged with numerous firearm violations, possession with intent to sell, operating a drug factory and risk of injury to a minor.
Police say their bonds were set at $500,000.
