A child and two women were killed in a head-on crash in Seymour, officials say.
The incident happened Wednesday on Route 34 near Argonne Terrace around 10 p.m.
Police say the two women and toddler were traveling eastbound on Route 34 when the driver failed to take a curve, crossed the double yellow line, and collided head-on with another car that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the car that was struck, a woman from the Brookfield area, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries that were not life-threatening.
The two women and toddler in the other car were pronounce dead at the scene.
Police say all three of them are from Connecticut.
Police are still trying to figure out the relationship among the victims, which they say has made notifying the family difficult. Seymour Police Chief Paul Satkowski says speed is being considered a factor in the crash, but an investigation with the help of state police is ongoing.
They're asking anyone with information to come forward by calling (203) 881-7600.
