A Torrington man tried to run his car over another man while yelling a racial slur, police say.

A Torrington man tried to run his car over another man while yelling a racial slur, police say.
John Charity, 74, was charged with intimidation and reckless endangerment.
The incident happened inside the parking lot of Stop and Shop at 211 High St. in Torrington on July 5.
Police say the victim told them Charity tried to hit him with a car while he was walking his dog and then began yelling racial slurs.
Charity was released on a $5,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on July 19.
