Police: West Haven man who rammed police cruiser faces slew of charges

West Haven police say they arrested a man who deliberately targeted and slammed his vehicle into a police cruiser on Saturday.
They say Iman Ahmed, of West Haven, attempted to run the patrol vehicle off the road near Route 1 in West Haven.
According to police, Ahmed pursued the officer and subsequently rammed his vehicle into a different patrol car that was stopped at a red light on Saw Mill Road near the West Haven Police Department.
Ahmed was charged with multiple violations including illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and assault of a public safety officer. His bond was set at $500,000.
