The declaration means federal assistance will be on the way to help state and local response efforts to the storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides that Connecticut saw last weekend.

Vice President Kamala Harris took the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago to formally accept the nomination for president of the United States.

State election regulators are referring Wanda Geter-Pataky to prosecutors for potential criminal charges related to alleged ballot fraud during last year's race for mayor in Bridgeport.
