Kelly Jones has been a gig worker for her whole life. Her main sources of income for the past decade have been singing/playing keyboard weekly at her family’s church, she’s been a short order cook, assistant, and worked in retail and deliveries. At the age of 42, she decided to start over and break through to a job in a completely different field – into the strange and confusing world of UX/UI design. She’s been enhancing her portfolio and applying unbiasedly to entry-level jobs, but it’s proved to be a struggle to cross over to another field. She knows that she wants a steady career that will pay the bills, but also one where she retains the freedom she has in her previous work. |
