PUMP PATROL: Gas prices continue to spike; average LI prices jump 4 cents overnight

Meanwhile, on Long Island, the average for a gallon of gas has jumped to $4.95 a gallon.

There’s another spike in gas prices this morning as prices reach new records.  
The national average for gas is now $4.59.  
In New York, the average for a gallon of gas sits at $4.91.  
Meanwhile, on Long Island, the average for a gallon of gas has jumped to $4.95 a gallon.  
Long Island’s average is up about 4 cents overnight, about 24 cents in a week and 89 cents in the last month.
