309ds agoA town hall to oppose a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for children at schools was held by a Putnam County legislator Thursday.
About 200 parents and community members across the county say they don't want their kids to be forced to get the COVID vaccine to go to school.
The meeting was held at the Paladin Center by Legislator Toni Addonizio, who has already drafted a resolution that would oppose the potential mandate.
A bill in the state Assembly's Health Committee aims to require the COVID-19 vaccine for students to go to school.
The group at the town hall said they are not against the vaccine, but the notion of forcing kids to get the COVID shot that they say they don't know enough about.
They are hoping the town hall will pave the path for more parents who aren't comfortable with being forced to vaccinate their child to speak up before it's too late.
