Opponents of a state measure that would remove non-medical exemptions from school vaccine law are holding a protest in Hartford Tuesday.
Members of the group Health Choice for Action say the rally will take place the same day lawmakers will vote on a controversial bill.
Officials say if passed, the bill would make it impossible for parents to avoid getting their kids vaccinated on the grounds of religious exemptions.
The group tells News 12, "parental choice and health care decisions should be made between a parents and their health care provider - not between a parent and the government."
Sen. Bob Duff, who supports the bill, says, "Understandably, there won't be a rally featuring those who don't have a choice in this debate: immunocompromised kids and their families. We have a duty to protect the public health of these children, and our state we will do so on Tuesday despite the loud, conspiracy-riddled and dangerous objections "
